Colleges and Universities CPG: students and the cost of living crisis

On 28 September, the Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group on Colleges and Universities met to discuss the cost of living crisis and its impact on students. MSPs and members of the CPG came together to discuss this very pressing issue and how we can help students through this crisis.

The CPG had three speakers, Ellie Gomersall from National Union of Students Scotland, Jill Stevenson from University of Stirling and Lydia Rohmer from West Highland College. Each speaker reiterated how students are struggling during this crisis and need interventions from the Scottish Government to help alleviate the pressures students are facing.

We will continue to work with the Scottish Government and member institutions to help support students and mitigate the effects of this crisis.

Alongside Colleges Scotland, we provide the Secretariat support to the CPG. If you would like further information about the CPG when please contact Aimee Logan.
