Universities Scotland position: Universities Scotland has appointed Alastair Sim as the new Director. Alastair will succeed David Caldwell on 1 July 2009. Alastair Sim is Director of Policy and Strategy at the Scottish Court Service, and has a career as a fast track civil servant which has spanned a number of government departments.
