Responding to the Scottish Government’s new Strategic Framework and five-tiered approach to managing COVID-19, a spokesperson for Universities Scotland said:
“Students, staff and universities need as much clarity as its possible to give in a global pandemic so we’ll take full opportunity of this very short period of consultation to work with Government to define what is meant by both blended and restricted blended learning as they are applied to different levels of the framework. We welcome the continued priority that the Scottish Government attaches to access to education in today’s Framework, as far as is possible whilst putting public health first.
“Since day one of the pandemic, our members have taken every precaution to protect staff and students. There have been no known cases of coronavirus in Scotland linked to university teaching environments.”
