SENGUARD – a start up from Glasgow Caledonian University
Ensuring digital safety for online users
SENGUARD is security subscription app built to protect people over the age of 50 when they are online, the most valuable and most targeted digital consumers in the UK.
The app, developed by Founder, Jordan Reid, provides internet security services that are built with older adults in mind, pre-emptively protecting them from scams and other online threats before any malicious software reaches their device, providing account security guarantees so that users can be sure their passwords are safe, and protecting users’ privacy by safeguarding their data while online.
Jordan’s interest in cybersecurity came after his grandfather fell victim to an online scam. Jordan teamed up with Grant McAdam, cybersecurity specialist and Glasgow Caledonian graduate, and together they developed SENGUARD.
SENGUARD was recently awarded funding through Scottish EDGE, a major financial milestone for the start-up, and a major vote of confidence from industry voices.
SENGUARD is now looking to the future with new capacity for investment and a detailed plan of action. Next, Grant and Jordan look forward to building a world-class team from highly skilled Scottish talent. Already, SENGUARD has seen success with early traction in the financial services sector, and pilot programmes scaling across the UK, starting with Erskine Veterans Charity last year.
