HE & Research Bill at Committee stage

Universities’ Scotland’s primary concern with the HE and Research Bill is to ensure that the new UK-wide structured proposed for research and innovation are required to act in the interests of the whole UK; have regard to the relevant policies of the devolved administrations; and have governance structures that reflect the interests of the whole UK.  We are looking for a clear separation of the resources UKRI will have at its disposal for UK-wide purposes and for the specific purposes of Research England.

We have submitted this briefing to members of the Committee and the Scrutiny Unit of the House of Commons. You can download it here.

Alastair Sim will give oral evidence to the Bill Committee on Tuesday, 6 September 2016.
