Universities Scotland has submitted a response to the Scottish Funding Council’s Review of Coherent Provision and Sustainability. Commissioned by Richard Lochhead MSP, Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science, the Review considers how best SFC can fulfil its mission of securing coherent provision by post-16 education bodies, and the undertaking of research, in the context of COVID-19 and the changes brought by the pandemic.
Our submission’s key focus is the university sector’s contribution to Scotland’s recovery from the pandemic, with a particular emphasis on the development of skills and attributes for a changed economy. Our evidence also sets out how the sector aspires to contribute to a wellbeing economy as referred to in the Scottish Government’s Economic Recovery Implementation Plan.
